Flat Fee · Attorney Drafted · New York Law
Client Services Agreement: $349 flat, drafted by a New York attorney.
For freelancers and agencies. Get paid on time, own nothing until they pay, kill fee included.
Who this is for: Freelancers, consultants, designers, developers, and agencies selling services to clients.
The contract that gets freelancers paid.
The firm's flat-fee demand letter service exists because clients stop paying freelancers who worked from a handshake. This agreement is the front-end fix: a deposit before work starts, payment due within 30 days by law where the Freelance Isn't Free Act applies, 1.5% monthly late interest, a kill fee if the client cancels mid-project, and no IP transfer until payment clears. The client cannot use the work and skip the bill.
Scope creep, handled.
Your included revision rounds are stated in the contract. Anything beyond them, and any work outside the described scope, gets quoted and agreed in writing before you do it. Client delays extend your schedule instead of penalizing you.
Drafted by the attorney who enforces these.
Daniel Hochman drafts and signs demand letters for unpaid freelancers every week through DemandLetterNY. This agreement is written from that side of the table: every clause is one he has needed and wished the freelancer had.
Checkout takes a minute: start your client services agreement, pay the $349 flat fee, then answer the short intake. The flat fee is the whole price, and you see the engagement terms before you pay.
Questions people ask us.
Is this Freelance Isn't Free Act compliant?
Yes. Where the Act covers your work, it requires a written contract with named elements, and this agreement states each of them. It also preserves the Act's rule that a client cannot force you to take less than the contract price after work has begun.
What's a kill fee?
If the client cancels mid-project you get paid for everything done plus a stated percentage of the remaining fee, compensating you for the booked time. The default is 25% and the attorney adjusts it to your project.
Portfolio rights?
Included. You keep the right to show the finished work in your portfolio unless the client opts out in writing.
